The Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) course is unit 1 of the full Paediatric First Aid qualification, that can be taken as a stand-alone course. This course is 6 hours and is suitable for parents, babysitters and others looking after children who would like to cover the basics. This qualification can be gained by those wishing to support colleagues who hold the Paediatric First Aid qualification in an Early Years setting. The training is hands on, giving you plenty of opportunity for practicing CPR, choking and recovery position, all in a fun non threatening environment, meaning you learn more easily.
The Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification can be gained on an Open Course or if you have a group to train, on an In House course at your venue. Please remember - to be a fully qualified paediatric first aider, you must complete the 12 hour Paediatric First Aid course.
Those needing the full 12 hour Paediatric First Aid course can now choose to undertake part of the training on line and complete the qualification in one day class based training. Please email office@peakskills.co.uk or use the Contact Us form to enquire about this.
Childminders in Kent are required to undertake their First Aid training from an approved training organisation such as Peak Skills. They are required to complete the 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Course to complete their registration and retake the training once the certificate expires after 3 years.
Nursery workers are required to undertake their First Aid training from an approved training organisation such as Peak Skills. Nurseries are required to have staff with the 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Course relating to numbers of children in attendance. Extra cover and support can be provided by staff with the 6 hour Emergency Paediatric First Aid course.
Nannies on the voluntary register are required to undertake their training from an approved training organisation such as Peak Skills. They are required to complete the 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Course to complete their registration and retake the training once the certificate expires after 3 years.
Au Pairs, Parents & Babysitters can choose to undertake either course.
