Sports Talk -
If your governing body does not require your coaches to hold an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, this shorter Sports First Aid course may be the one for you! This course lasts for 3 hours and covers all the first aid basics for those involved in sports clubs and teams. This course can also be offered to parents of younger club members so there is some side-line support, and this may also be a way to offset some training costs if they make a donation for attending. The Sports First Aid course is run as an In House course at your venue, so the contents can be adapted to your sport and situation. The cost for up to 12 candidates is £400 to include a manual and certificate for each person.
Pitch Side First Aid -
If a more comprehensive course is what you are looking for, Peak Skills’ Pitch Side First Aid Course may be it. This course is 2 days in durations and covers the wide variety of injuries possible during sporting activities. This course can be tailored to a specific sport, or remain general. Amongst other things this course covers the mechanism of sports injuries and therefore how to minimise them, assessing casualties, managing casualties pitch side, head injuries, fractures and soft tissue injuries, compartment syndrome and transporting casualties as well as CPR and unconscious casualty management - both with and without suspected spinal injury. This course can also be tailored to include the EFAW syllabus, and therefore give two qualifications on successful completion.
