Emergency call. Landline or mobile phone - which should you use?
When making a call to the Emergency Services call from a landline if you can. Landlines are registered to buildings so the address automatically comes up on the ‘caller line identification’ software.
You will still need to verify the address as sometimes it is not as accurate as needed, for example if a large house has been split into flats, but it helps pin point you and speeds up the whole process. With many landline telephones now being cordless, you can still stay with the casualty if they are in the house whilst contacting the ambulance service.
